You cannot install a font in Windows [any ver.] simply by copying the font
into the Fonts folder.
You must INSTALL it from Fonts [via Control Panel], using the option
"Install New Font"
[from File menu}, then point to the font file, which you've copied to a TEMP
dir. or other location.
THEN & only then can Windows add it to the available Fonts AND to the
Registry info for all fonts
that the system now knows it has installed, so that all apps can use it.
PS: If your Fonts File menu does NOT have the Install New Font option alive,
I can tell you how
to restore it -- sometimes that gets trashed by unfathomable Windows
weirdness... thanks, Bill_G!
carry on,
Al
