1. Be able to learn real fast.

2. Be able to tell someone else what you learned.

All the rest is details, and can be included in #1 or #2. #1 includes
learning about advances in our profession, the tools we use to do our jobs,
the audience we're creating the material for, the subject we're creating
the material about. #2 includes making judgement calls on how much
information and the best way to present it.
