Yes, it's a standard term, but seems to be more common in British-
and French-influenced cultures; in fact, in French, an Appendix is
simply called an "Annexe". In North American English, "Appendix" is
overwhelmingly more common, except in some specific genres; in
contract law, for instance, I believe "annex" is common. (Don't quote
me on that one... not a lawyer.)
