Wiki as a documentation delivery system? (take II)

Great topic, so many aspects to consider...

Maybe wikis work for some types of users and not others. 

Why not release the wiki doc to the community? That would remove
company's liability, if there is any.

Why not flag user contributions (color code, etc) so other users will
know when they are reading "sanctioned" content that originated with the
company versus content that has been added by a user. Maybe a group
would be responsible for vetting user contributions. Maybe that's too
much work. Maybe it isn't.

How do you get the really smart users to collaborate on wikis? Done
successfully, it's where the most value can be realized. I remember Sun
used to have a rewards system in their forums that met with some
success. I would like to see something like that incorporated into a
Wiki to get the really good stuff out of the guru's heads and into the
general pool of knowledge.
