It's XC skiing with your dog.  You need a set of old skis, a harness for 
you (a mountain climbing belt works best, but you can also use any wide 
strong belt), a dog at least half your weight or more, a dog harness and 
a 15 foot rope with some form of stress relief (I used two budgie cords 
duck taped to make a loop in the rope).  Find a nice field, harness the 
dog, put on your skis and connect the tug line between you and the dog 
harness.  Gee means go right.  Haw means go left.  Fall down when you 
want to stop.  It's a blast and you can have a great time with your 
animal friend.  I used to use two 70 pound Huskies and was totally out 
of control for the first mile or so (I weight about 140 lbs at the 
time).   I did it for nearly 15 years at least twice a week when the 
temperature was 30 below or warmer.

Now, I live in warm Vermont and fight with the cat......
