The Canadian Oxford Dictionary makes a distinction between "workgroup" and
"working group":
Workgroup: (Computing) a group of people who have simultaneous access via a
computer network to shared software and data, which enables them to work
together on projects.
Working group: a group of people appointed to study a particular problem or
advise on some question.
