I never assume anything. Ask "someone" what they mean, and ideally  
get it in writing. Guessing wrong could prove very expensive, so why  
take the risk? And in your own documents, don't make the same  
mistake: nail down the meaning so tight even a lawyer can't  
misunderstand you.
