-- can you please explain to me how blinkered literalist rules for the 
content of all conversation (since apparently no one here knows how to use 
the "delete" button) -- help yoiu all get through your days working for the 
man  -- don't benefit from off-topic conversation in order to lighten the 
load? -- a bit -- but maybe there is no off-topic space where you all work 
-- and if that's the case i'm very sorry to hear it -- in very truth -- 
maybe you only ever read technical manuals and have discussions about COBOL 
and whatever it is and have no contact with the world outside and for gods 
sakes can't see any point in anything but thinking about work -- and i for 
one don't believe a word of such a characterization --

-- as for the context for this particular OT post i have a few choice words 
which i will express elsewhere
