Push for Simpler Spelling

I thought most of that was already in place...and they called it
American English...
Okay, so that was too easy a joke; but it's not all in jest. I grew up
spelling things the way the Queen did. The fruit of our labour as
writers had a different color, and our so on. Ironically, it was a
*British* manager around (not "round about") 1994 or so that first
told me to switch to American spelling because the next version of
their software was going to be targeted at a US audience.
