That's some good (and funny) stuff, but I think the etymology of "dial
in" as business jargon has nothing to do with telephony.
One can speak of "dialing in" the sights of a rifle, and it's also a
relevant term in artillery range-finding. "Dialing in" a system means
"calibrating" it, roughly, so "dialing in" a product's features might
refer to zeroing in (pardon the expression) on the feature set.
The business jargon for "including" something these days tends to be
"bake(d) in(to)," as in "these features will be baked into the next
release of the product."
