Depends on the source of the info.
If the info came from one of the papers or books reviewed in the
course, then that's the reference.
If this was something that Professor Hiram Arbuckle said (or whoever
the prof was), then perhaps "Prof. Hiram Arbuckle, UC Davis, personal
communication" might do the trick.
