Temp/permanent annotations?

I think someone else already suggested the Comments feature in Word.
One thing to point out on this is, which version of Word are you
using? (If any?) If you are using Word 2003, comments actually appear
in the right margin and look very much like sticky notes, with an
arrow pointing to the originally marked text.

If you have 2000 or earlier, of course, they appear in a little window
under the main document. I've never liked this implementation, but the
one in 2003 is much easier to use IMO.
