 EBM == Electronic Body Music, or, in other words, industrial dance
music merging into trance and techno. 

(I play this stuff in a dance club once a week. It makes getting to work
the next morning tough, but it's worth it. Interestingly, 2 other
gothic/industrial DJs I know are also technical writers. Coincidence? I
think...yes, probably.)

TMBG is They Might Be Giants, and I have +no+ idea what category they
fit into.

 

EBM is... err... kind of related to goth.  I don't  have much of it - I
like one or two pieces, but the rest largely bores/irritates me.
