Frame vs. InDesign

To each their own, but I am liking the idea of being able to create a
batch file to compile both of my RoboHelp projects in a single process
instead of having two sessions of RH open and manually going through the
generate/publish process. This is functionality that has been asked for
a while and until version 6, it wasn't there. The variables and expanded
conditional tags <including the TOC and Index> are features that will
allow me to do more with conditional text and, frankly, why I have never
implemented them using previous versions of RH.
One of the less-mentioned upgrade niceties is that the Map ID window has
been changed to be resizeable. For me, when I went through converting
119 WinHelp files to HTML and had to reassign 158 map IDs, this would
have been a great feature. I found the X5 version of this window to be
... time-consuming.
That all said, you should always have a business case to upgrade your
tool, not just get it because it's there <unless you have a budget that
you will lose situation if you don't spend it <grin>.>
In the interest of full-disclosure, I was a beta tester for 6, but I am
currently using X5 for both at home and at work projects.

I'm eager to see what they will do, and if Frame 8 is ever produced, if
it will just be a re-branded Frame 7, not unlike the latest release of
RoboHelp.
