Hello Anthony Hernandez - may I suggest that you sign up to the dita at yahoo user group - here you will find a lot of fellow "dita-citizen" willing to help you establish and understand all the details about DITA. You will also find an extensive "knowledgebase" ("old" questions and answers)
Here you will also find a range of tool-vendors.
Please also visit
http://xml.coverpages.org/dita.html
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=dita
but I assume you've already been there?
If you have specific questions please do not hesitate to contact me off-list
Thanks, Ole
Best Regards

I was looking for some books on XML and DITA so I
searched Amazon and come up with
* Single Sourcing: Building Modular Documentation by
Kurt Ament
* Managing Enterprise Content: A Unified Content
Strategy by Ann Rockley.
Although I've read online articles and some of the
threads on the list, I'm not really sure where to
start. Does anyone know of resources, either online or
in print, that I could use to get started?
My goal is to know the concepts that underly XML and
DITA and the tools that now support them or will
support them in the future.
Many thanks,
Anthony Hernandez
