It's not even a question of "worth it."  You and "Bob" have seriously
incompatible views of what your job is and how your performance
is measured.  Sooner or later one of you will decide to sever your
relationship with the company.  It is always better to walk out and
take your carpet with you than to have it pulled out from under you.
