SWF or SilverLight?

In a world of automated fuzzers, exploit catalogs, and many people who
can speak both machine code and higher-level languages, almost nothing
is going to be secure.

The Java question is one complicated by politics, and the inevitable
question of "why?" since other than its variable memory management, it
has no advantages over C++ in the eyes of most developers.

However, in my experience, Java has been quite successful. Like Python,
it has found a solid but niche market in web enterprise development.
JavaScript of course is on just about every web page you visit.

I agree Flash (SWF) has the lead. I'm curious about Silverlight and
whether it could make our lives easier. Like you, I've long gotten over
the point where I believe the hype about anything but dessert foods :)
