Resume or CV

I used to edit and typeset resumes and curriculum vitae professionally.
My understanding is that a resume is targeted more toward a business
position while a CV is more related to academia.  The CV often includes
more extracurricular activities, especially volunteer work and
associations, because many academicians such as Ph.D. candidates might
be a bit short on other directly-related job experience.

This might have changed from the many years ago I was working on them,
and of course YMMV.  If all else fails, look up the dictionary
definitions (I'd do it but I also need to get some other things done
today).
