LoJack is wired to the vehicle's electrical system and powered by the
vehicle's battery. That applies to AVL systems that use the cellular or
paging networks as well (my wife sells an Automatic Vehicle Locator
system, so I'm familiar).
The object in question was obviously self-contained and self-powered...
sitting there, as it was, glowing evilly in the middle of the street.
Also, doesn't LoJack try to be unobtrusive? A constantly glowing red LED
would make the unit easy to detect and remove.
Hmm. Maybe my brother was right and it IS a part broken off a
Terminator. Eek!
Perhaps I should be looking over my shoul
