My apologies--it's my fault, not Michelle's.
I've been working odd hours and travelling for work,
and
asked Michelle to help out with list moderation and
some
other TECHWR-L-related tasks. All, please welcome
Michelle.
One of the reasons that she's helping out is that
I haven't been able to moderate as consistently
or quickly as the list needs (thus leading to the
inconsistency noted in this thread). It's a real
problem, and she's helping to fix it.
As I told Michelle, she's perfectly right that the
post in question isn't directly about tech writing,
and I completely support her decision.
Side comment--would there be value in setting up a
new parallel list for "off topic" discussions or
technical discussions that aren't really tech
writing? Now that we're free from Lyris, that
would be straightforward to do. Let me (and
Michelle) know what you think, please.
Michelle, I'm sorry for not introducing you
sooner--and allowing this to happen. My apologies.
All, please be patient as we get back to having
consistent application of the forum rules, and if
there's something that Michelle should know that I
didn't remember to mention, please help her out.
