Video vs The Written Word

Once again, it all comes down to audience and subject matter. If your
audience could understand the topic more easily with a video or
animation, then doing so makes perfect sense.

But if anyone (i.e. management) thinks that going to video is the
answer because it's "hip" or "quick" or "easy," they gots themselves
another think coming. Speaking as someone who was in the film and
video industry for a number of years, I can corroborate the point made
by Al and others that producing video of high (or even reasonable)
quality is not cheap or quick.

It's a great idea in situations where it adds value, but as a short
cut, it's anything but short....
