Absolutely true. I used to run into this from the other direction from
time to time in the video field, when someone would want to fill a
bunch of time with screens full of text. Trust me, no one wants to sit
in front of a TV and read :-)

Video is great for some types of communication, such as showing you
how to do something that's confusing to write about (a few months back
there was an argument about documenting dance steps: maybe you could
describe it in words or notation, but most people would understand a
whole lot quicker if you just showed them a video of it). But video is
not an alternative to text. It has different strengths and weaknesses.
