But of course, Kevin could always take out a second mortgage (or 
scrounge coins from under the couch cushions) to replace an old power 
supply with one that is compatible with the mobo.  A free tower case is 
still $40+ off the price of the components for a homebrewed PC....

Hackers will also get a kick out of Cygwin--it brings Unix VM (and 
X-Windows) to Windows.  What could be more fun? And it's free.
