On a tangent, one reason why some companies want
employees to work more hours is if they bill customers
for hours worked.

Admittedly, not common in the TW world. An example
closer to home would be contractors who are eager for
billable hours. Getting paid for OT hours sure has an
effect on how one views the subject. And this might
happen especially for consultants with multiple
clients who have somehow not thought to coordinate
their project schedules. :)
