"Tech writers" are not "tech writers"

I don't think I get mad when I read many things that "should" offend
me, but I find them inaccurate, and as a professional who likes to
communicate information and not surface attraction, I find inaccuracy
to be troubling.

One such troubling event is the recurrence use of the term "tech
writer" to apply to "technology writers," or those columnists and
bloggers who write about computers for media outlets of varying sizes.
There are good technology writers (Dvorak) and bad ones, but I want to
gain some distance from those who will always invoke controversy and
those who just want to write some good docs.

As written in the blog:

Technical writers, sometimes called "tech writers," write manuals and
help systems and procedures to help make sense of technology. We are
unrelated to "technology writers," who depending on which one you
encounter, may be people who failed to fill out admission papers
correctly at the asylum or intelligent commentators.

Spread the word. No disrespect is intended toward technology writers,
but to my mind, "tech writer" is a different animal entirely.
