"Tech writers" are not "tech writers"

I couldn't find a definition, but the word appeared in (order of
frequency) Lithuanian, Swedish, Norwegian, German and Russian. And then
I found someone beat us to it:
http://www.tekom.de/index_neu.jsp
"The tekom Annual Conference is Europes largest event in the field of
technical communication and information development. In 2007 the
tekom will take place from November 7th to 9th in the Rhein-Main
Hallen in Wiesbaden, Germany. Last years conference saw more than
2.400 conference attendees and the number is expected to rise again
this year."
Well, how dare they... but it seems the word works, at least on one
continent.
