Altium Designer --> line drawing

I received a PDF file from an engineer exported from Altium Designer, which I need to use to document the components contained on the board. 

The drawing has the detail needed for manufacturing (soldering points, circuitry, etc.) but all I need is a component layout to which I can add call outs. He says he can't provide any less detail that what his software exports to PDF.

I don't have the package he uses. Is there anything I can tell him that would produce a less detailed drawing? If not, how else can I clean this up with a minimum of work? I have Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to use.
