Managers <> Tech Writers.
If you have other people messing around with your source docs and
denying you the use of graphics programs and whatever else... I feel
sorry for you, but what you're suffering doesn't change the reality
for the majority of TWs across the world. As I see it, this is a
tools, issue and not a socio-political one. I have already
acknowledged that in your restrictive situation, you have to use what
you're allowed to use. That should be understood to extend to a
situation where you have other people messing with your source docs -
if you're stuck with it, you're stuck with it.

Other TWs, who are empowered with full control of their documents,
should link instead of embedding (IMHO).
