-- there are two basic categories of index -- back of the book index, and 
research databases which index reference material -- publishing houses may 
outsource back of the book indexes, whereas research databases are made 
through an extensive process that involves full-time staff --

the major database producers, a list of which is at any library, would have 
job listings --
