"Appears" vs. "will appear"

Between these two, I choose No. 1.  It uses fewer words.

However, if the very next step tells the user to do something
in the XYZ dialog box (and especially if it is accompanied by
a screen cap of the dialog box with a callout), the second 
sentence might not be needed at all
