"Appears" vs. "will appear"

If you don't like "opens" or "appears", then how about "insinuates itself in
a place of prominence"?

Or, "arrives to obscure a critical portion of the screen"?

"Manifests"?  I just like the word "manifest" as a verb. Daring? Perhaps.
Kinky? Absolutely. Effective? Well, you're still reading, aren't you?

"Exposes itself"?

"Takes center stage"?
