Each to his / her own, I guess. 

"Classroom in a Book" worked wonderfully for me and my fellow tech writers at Komatsu-America when FrameMaker was brought in to replace WordPerfect back in 2001 or so. The "Dummies" book is good, too, but "Classroom" is what got us up and running in a very short time.
