Hi Suzanne,
you could try to create some macros in Word to find these tables and convert
them to paragraphs, but I doubt whether you can do this "with a minimum of
fuss" in Word.
I do have an automated process for this in Adobe FrameMaker. If you wish,
you can always send me a couple of these Word files. I'll give it a whirl
and save your files back as Word again.
