Technical Writing Certifications

I think the point Mr. Neilson is making is that in education, you are
told what to learn and then repeat. Certifications measure this kind of
ability. The ability to be effective in the field is entirely
different. As with all things, a balanced and sceptical eye must be
used. If a candidate comes in with a certification, low experience, and
seems clueless, that's probably a bad match.
