Replacing "master" and "slave" terminology

I confess to being one of those writers who sought alternatives to 
saying "when you kill the parent, the child dies". It may correctly 
describe what happens to a spawned process, but I just couldn't bring 
myself to be that brutal, even for clarity. :-)
