Yes, because if you make any change in a paragraph of text using that style,
the style is changed. Let's say for some reason you want to make some ad hoc
manual change in the way something looks in a paragraph. If you do it and
the style is set to update automatically, you've just altered all text that
uses that style because you've really changed the style by making that one
manual change.
