no hyperlinks: Word 2003 -> Acrobat Standard 7.0.9

Subject says it all, really. I have Word 2003 documents in which I have 
created hyperlinks in a Word document using Insert Bookmarks and 
Hyperlink. The hyperlink/bookmarks based on Styles create just fine, the 
hyperlinks based on Insert Bookmarks/Hyperlinks sit there looking blue and 
pretty but completely unfollowable.

While I could go back and use Acrobat to recreate the hyperlinks, I'd just 
as soon not have to. This should be automatic, dang it.

Hints? Help?
