You don't get on to the computer or application either!
AFAICT, we have two contradicting major style guides. MS says
"on/off"; Sun says "in/out". However, both seem to agree that the verb
is two words while the noun is one. In both cases, "log in" or "log
on" is used, not "log into" or "log onto", so I guess that the OP's
query is answered.
