active vs. passive voice

Think about the objective of avoiding use of the passive
constructions. Now, focus on that objective and use the rule when it
helps you to achieve the objective without causing other problems
(like screwing with your given/new placement, putting unimportant
material in the subject position of your sentences, etc.).

If "is displayed" does the job for you, then use it.

Oh, and always remember to ALWAYS wear clean underwear in case you're
ever hit by a car and have to go to the hospital...
