Personally, I wouldn't use bang (!) or any other character that is
frequently used in code as part of a filename. For example, in Visual
Basic, bang means "not," so perhaps something like this could create
problems with your xref if FrameMaker is trying to interpret bang as code
and reference everything except what follows the bang.
I use a tilde (~) in filenames to get them at the top, but some apps put
tilde at the bottom. If tilde is used in code, then it is used
infrequently. Some characters are used more frequently and include most of
the other symbols on a keyboard.
