Elaine, I think this is mainly an individual stylistic choice. I have not found any hard and fast rules on the subject. In practice I've always used more space between the body text and the first bulletted line, and the last bulletted line and the following text than between bulletted lines.So it would look like this:

* Text text text
* Text text text
* Text text text

Following body text, text, text. As fat as the alignment of bullets with text, I personally align the bullet with the left edge of the preceding text.

Hello...can anyone point towards research about the formatting of bulleted
lists? I need to find documentation that addresses the spacing between items
and spacing before and after the list.

Thanks!
