One recruitment company in Dublin that seems to carry a lot of tech
writer jobs is CPL. You'll find them on these job ads.

I don't know what you mean by getting an employer to sponsor you and
I would guess we use the same tech writing tools as everyone else. Is
there a particular reason that you think we may use different ones?

If you were wondering about salaries, I would say that with three
years experience as a tech writer for a software development company,
you should epect to get at least 26K Irish punts. This may seem low
to you, depending on where you are currently working. Salaries seem
to vary widely. You will probably see anything from 18K upwards
quoted in job ads and the maximum seems to be about 30K, and that
would be for someone who can prove they are a good tech writer, knows
the tools, and can plan and manage their projects. Anything above
that and you'd be looking at becoming a Documentation Manager. In all
cases, good benefits are becoming normal - pension scheme, health
insurance, share scheme, annual bonuses, etc.

These are, of course, only my opinions, based on what little I know,
so others may disagree.
