Dear Friends,

Thank you for all your input. I've received several good suggestions
for new job titles that might more accurately describe what a technical
writer does. These are serious titles that IMHO might be worth fighting
for during job negotiations:

* Documentation Manager
* Executive Communications Officer
* Information Analyst
* Information Architect
* Information Designer
* Information Developer
* Manager of Information Design and Delivery
* Technical Analyst
* Technical Communications Specialist

Do you think that companies find these titles more worthy of higher pay
than a technical writer? Or are you thinking that titles like don't
mean anything and are like calling a trash man a "sanitation
specialist"?
