I'm having a problem printing PDF files generated with PDFMaker in Word2000
on some printers. Specifically, our printing vendor's Minolta Cluster
Printer.
I'm using PDFMaker from Acrobat 4.05a to create bookmarked PDF files in Word
2000 under Windows NT. The PDFs print out fine from the HP5Si Postscript
printers on our network, but won't RIP on the RIP engine (TR Systems
micropress) used by our vendor's Minolta high-end printer. The PDFs I create
using PDFMaker in Word cause errors with his RIP engine. Yet, when I print
to file and use Acrobat Distiller directly, there is no problem. The file
size is substantially smaller as well.
They can also print them fine on their office laser printer. So far, We have
not found any reasonable solution allowing them to print the PDFs generated
using PDFMaker on their Minolta digital press.
There does not seem to be any information on the Adobe Website about this. I
have posted this problem on an Acrobat discussion board on the Adobe site as
well.
Has anyone else experienced problems printing PDFs generated with PDFMaker?
Is there a solution that allows me to still use PDFMaker in Word 2000 to
automatically generated PDF bookmarks?
thanx,
Dave
