A good idea is to ask your hardware vendor. Ask them to "warrant" that the
new system your company purchases for you will run the software you propose
to run. This means prepare an RFQ (Request for Quotation).

Then, compare your "quotation" with Chuck Martin's advice: "if your
computer is a second-tier system compared to your programmers, then the
message being sent is that the tasks you have are secondary in importance."
If there's a difference, your sales rep can explain it. It's his or her job.
