Subject:RE: RE. Index from multiple documents? From:"Jessica N. Lange" <jlange -at- oee -dot- com> To:"TechWR-L" <TECHWR-L -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 25 May 2000 11:42:40 -0400
I shouldn't say this cause I haven't tried it, but.....
if the docs are on a INTRANET server running MS WinNT
(and possibly Windows2000??), that software includes
an index server. From the doc:
"Microsoft® Index Server indexes the contents and
properties of documents on an Internet or intranet
Web site served by Microsoft® Internet
Information Server (IIS).
"In addition to indexing Web pages in HTML format,
Index Server indexes documents formatted by
applications such as Microsoft® Word and
Microsoft® Excel. "
Unfortunately, "learn Index Server" is still on my
To_Do list. Hope this isn't just a waste of bandwidth!
