Absolutely NO WAY I'd work for my hourly rate times a 1000! I'd end up with
nearly a 50% pay cut! I've turned down offers that offered me more than that!

I think the person who suggested extrapolating your yearly rate for the entire
year, then asking 75% of the total was more on the mark.
