thanx for the suggestions - however, I'm not there yet.

I do have Distiller installed, not just the reader, as one person suggested.

I'm pretty sure I do have the ppd, as someone else suggested. This is not easy
to find on the adobe site, btw, but I got it and installed it last week.

I turned off the pdfmaker option to use Distiller Assistant's color settings, as
one error message I got was that the Assistant couldn't be found/used. After
that, the Create PDF > Print command worked just fine, but once it went through
the creation it said 'Distiller Can Not be Found'

I can print to file, then use Distiller to create a pdf, but it does not create
a two-pane window, with clickable contents and index.

You also can't download 4.05 update, but only order it on CD Rom. If this is
what's needed, I'm happy to do that, however.
