Long before people had rich authoring tools, like HDK, people hand-crafted Help solutions... much slower and no in-built management of the Help domain. You save money by buying a Help authoring tool because you reduce the complexity of your Help design and management activities. Remember building the first cut of your HTML Help is just the beginning.

I have to say that I prefer my wonderful tool, HDK...
