Thank GOD for someone like Dan.

I moved to America a year ago and here's I found that my brand of english got me into trouble.

I said to one friend lets go have a fag. (cigarette)

I asked a woman for a rubber. (Eraser)

Laughed every time I heard a yank use the term "I need a ride." (means to screw in my neck of the woods).

Said listen lads, the female of the group got rather upset.

Said to another friend....some folk are generally queer. (means strange)

Watched Americans say Scotchman (I thought Scotch was a drink) Limy, Brit, Mick, etc and not bat an eye, but take offense to being called Yanks.

Forgive, but there is NO free speech in the States. To speak freely means to upset one group or every group.

Do you think the French or Italians have the same problem?
======================================================================

Yes!! Everyone on this list is ready at the drop of a hat to cite
non-existent civil rights (e.g., the right not to be required
to take a drug-test when applying for a job), but no
one stands up for the first amendment, which
defends the individual's right to speak his/her mind without
fear of retaliation, even if what the speaker says does
not conform to the current thinking of the dictatorship of the
politically correct elitists.

Up with free speech.

Up those who enforce politically correct speech.
